I expect this interview to be used in arguments in the future where Miyamoto's comments are abused to make a point that they don't support ...

When used well motion controlls really do add something special to a lot of games, and with the addition of the Wii MotionPlus there will be more times where motion controlls can be used well and their impact will be greater. At the same time, until we get to a point where people can hook electrodes up to their brain and experience "The Matrix" we will always be working with systems that have limitations and motion controlls are no different in that sense.

What I expect will be the result of this generation on the next generation of consoles is that all consoles will use motion controllers somewhat similar to the Wiimote and Nunchuck (both having the functionality of Wii MotionPlus), these controllers will likely have more buttons than the Wiimote/Nunchuck that have greater functionality than the Wiimote and Nunchuck buttons (analogue buttons, possibly with hidden digital buttons underneith); but there still won't be as many buttons (that you're expected to use at one time) as current controllers. All companies will also branch out and try other input controll devices (like speech recognition) to add a level of immersion which is currently unavailable.
