Please tell me who exactly will embrace the PS3, cause what you're saying doesn't make any sense.
Harcore Sony fans? Most of those have a PS3 by now
Visualcore gamers? Most have a PS3 or 360 by now
PS2 audience? Most will go to Wii, Final Fantasy crowd is split now, GTA crowd is split now, part will go to PS3 but Microsoft has almost all the important franchises on their console as well, which makes the PS3 much less advantaged then PS2 was.
Your statement that the architecture will be exploited is fanboy blahblah. We have more then enough evidence that the PS3 is just as strong as the 360. And even if the exclusives will be a little more beautiful, the difference will be very small.
Of the really big exclusives PS3 has only 1 left: Gran Turismo 5, which will release somewhere in 2010. By then this race will be long decided.
I'm sorry to dissapoint you, but consoles (or other consumer articles for that matter) don't start selling incredibly well somewhere halfway their lifetime. And the 10 year plan is a Fable once Microsoft releases its next console in 2012. Sony has no choice whatsoever to respond to that, due to the fact that Microsoft ensured all the big franchises to be on their consosle as well.
