Meh, 5.5/10. The problem with the PS3, for me, is that it's just too much of an investment. Buying consoles is really damn expensive. Once you purchase a PS3, controllers, a game or two, a headset, cables, etc., it can become a very hefty price tag. Plus, a lot of the games exclusive to the PS3 are "I can live without" games. While the PS3 does have some good exclusives, most of them are not motivation enough to buy the system. Heavenly Sword and Uncharted (among other games) look like a lot of fun, but I won't die if I don't play them. The only real exception to this is LittleBigPlanet (I'm not a MGS fan). White Knight Story also is a great motivation. |
Hatchet, I was under the impression you owned a PS3.
OT: I have a PS3 and I like it, but if I didn't review games, I wouldn't have bought one for a while. It has some good games, but IMHO, it doesn't offer enough of a distinction to justify the pricetag. Sure, it has Blu Ray - but I actually uses HD DVD a lot more than my Blu Ray. Plus, I wasn't going to jump into the HD format war until much later. Lastly, the current lineup is ok, and the future one is legit, but it is in the future and could change drastically. I am a current gamer who hates waiting. If I am going to spend my money, I want to go to a store and buy the titles right off the bat.
Anyhow, I think it was D21Lewis who said 3 PS3s ... I can't pass this up.
