I read that it's not exactly free-roaming, at least in the sense that you can't drive where you want. It appears from the videos you have a tour guide or something.
Regardless, it's a beautiful looking game. If I get a PS3 later this year for LBP, I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on Afrika.
