Loss of exclusives, which is only a problem for expensive HD gaming, reduces the sales of both HD consoles.
No I do not understand what you mean. Consoles are bought because of their gaming library. If one console has a game the other has not it will increase sales relative to the other console.
So if both HD consoles have all games of each other (and other things would be equal) sales would be equal relative to each other.
But loosing an exclusive to another HD console won't increase Wii sales that's just weird. Making all HD games multiplatform enhances the gaming libs of the HD consoles and makes them a better choice relative to the Wii. Nothing else.
(The Wii will still outsell them because of its casual gamer domination but thats a different matter)
