I still can't believe how easily people forget and discount the things said by Nintendo. Last year, they blatantly said that E3 was going through a "turning point", and that this "new E3" would be for casual and core alike. Why did anybody expect them to go back on this? It's almost as though nobody actually listens to what's said, only to what they want to hear...
