When you deal with games like MGS and Final Fantasy the publishers are far more willing to tolerate a delay than they are for lesser titles because the increase in cost is justified by increased sales. Currently it requires a lot more content to produce a PS3 game (than a PS2 game) and it wouldn't take too much to derail a schedule.
Basically, I wouldn't be surprised if Kojima found himself 3 months behind schedule and the game was delayed into Q2 of 2008 ...

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised to see Square publish Final Fantasy games on either the XBox 360 or Wii in the future but I would anticipate that the PS3 and XBox 360 got one game (Final Fantasy XIII) while the Wii got another (Final Fantasy XIII-2) ...
I would not expect that Square would attempt to use the product they have been developing for the PS3 on the Wii ...
