The Wii is not your ordinary system, the new Metal Gears won't be Metal Gear (MGS4 is the final in the series). Just like Metal Gear was specifically designed with the PS3. Now I expect the new top system sellers on the Wii to be designed specifically with the Wii in mind! Nintendo showed the way how to do it right with Wii Sports. Resident Evil: UC is a fine example of how a 3rd party game should look like. Even the remake of RE4 looks like it was destined to be a Wii game.
Well I'm not a fan of ports but it is a sign that developpers see money in it and they should. It is a sign that they will developp more and more unique games in the future. Untill the day games get ported from the Wii to other systems that are not a Nintendo system, Nintendo will keep stealing more and more 3rd party developpers to create unique games... eventually leading to more 3rd party exclusives.
Nintendo never needed those big 3rd party franchises to be successfull... now imagine Nintendo's success when those franchises will be heading to the Wii... The Wii beating PS2 numbers, it can be done!
