The game boy metroid from what I read felt a little cramped on the tiny screen of the original giant grey brick that was the game boy. I can see now why Strongbad used his gameboy in his time portal/warp machine. The game got good reviews, but if you played it today, I don't think it would of aged well. |
I played Metroid II for the first time a few years ago and think it aged quite well. There is not a thing wrong with the controls. The graphics are very nice for a GB game, though I did play it with my GBA. The one problem I had with the game does relate to the graphics though. With the limited colors, limited detail to the levels, and lack of a map, it is easy to lose your way. I made it through the majority of the game on my own, but had to resort to a map to find out where the heck I hadn't been.
Other than that it was a blast. I really liked the concept of the game, which makes it unique among the Metroid games(to me).
