I guess it's because many, like myself, played the game and were less impressed then you were. I couldn't even bring myself to finish it because I got bored, and the gameplay was annoying to me. Not to mention I had to turn the gamma all the way up to see anything, which I understand by the game's namesake but it was still annoying.
All in all, it's the only PS3 game that I have actually sold back to Gamestop.
