The honest truth is not that the PS3 and 360 aren't selling bad, it's that the Wii is selling good. From release date the PS3 is on par with the PS2. The 360 is selling slightly slower than the PS2 at the same stage in it's life. So no the PS3 and 360 aren't selling bad. That said casual games aren't biting into core market. The Wii sells mostly to casual gamers who would other wise not care about video games. If Nintendo suddenly discountinue the Wii and cease all software releases, the PS3 and 360 would still sell roughly the same amount, actually slightly more. Maybe an extra for 15k and 10k per week WW for the PS3 and 360 respectively. The majority of Wii's base, casual gamers, would not buy a PS3 or 360 just because the Wii didn't exist. It's actually good for PS3 and 360 because eventually for some Wii gamers the simplicity of throwing darts to pop as many ballons in under a minute could eventually lead them to MGS, FF, Halo, GoW or whatever core game you like.

Grrrr.....

Don't get mad dtewi. He is a newbie. He doesn't know any better....

You're using the WW chart, correct? It starts out with the PS2 in Japan only though. It doesn't align the launches for all regions.

For a much better comparison, use American, Japan, and Others aligned launches charts.
