I stopped reading at "Does anybody still play Nitnendogs."

Doesn't nintendogs still chart?

Nintendogs is like... one of the few games from 2005 that anybody still buys let alone plays.

Nintendogs sold 75,000 copies last week, in the middle of the summer, 3 years after it came out. It typically sells 50-100k any given week.

I understand this guy's frustration, but I think it's misguided. I personally love these games, I'm really looking forward to Wii Sports 2, so I'm not complaining, but this is the first time I see the complaints.

Long tim Nintendo fans have found a truce with Nintendo: the core gamers get Twilight Princess, while "they" get Wii Sports. The core gamer gets Metroid Prime 3, while "they" get Wii Play and Mario Party. The core gamer gets Galaxy, while "they" get Wii Fit.

And this E3, the casual gamer gets Wii Sports 2 and Wii Music while "traditional" gamers get... what, Animal Crossing? I think it's fair to say that doesn't appeal much to 24 year old males, and I'd argue it's a casual game with some core appeal, not vice versa.

Again, personally, I'm fine. I love Wii Sports, it's my favorite game of the generation -- but I do see why others might be miffed.

I am without a doubt upset that they didn't announce any games for me at the E3 conference but I'm not about to admit my taste in games is better than anyone elses, Nintendo has deserted me, Nintendo has gone too far, and whatever other argument people use.  I just see it as they didn't announce any games for me, which sucks, but it doesn't mean that I should be upset because other people are getting games they enjoy.

I really hate the elitist fucks that think their taste in games is automatically better because they've been playing games longer and their games have blood.  This rule generally holds true for me for most types of media where you have the people have been long time fans and see themselves as better than the flood of new people and think anything geared towards them just isn't good enough or whatever.
