One thing that surprises me that people have missed about Nintendo's long standing release strategy is the number of games they try to release towards the end of the year ...
In a typical year, Nintendo releases a big (in relative terms) game in August, September, October, November and December with 1 to 3 smaller titles that are released through out this timeframe; on occasion one of the bigger games may be delayed, which leaves a (somewhat) weaker line-up. If Nintendo follows a typical pattern they will have 6 to 8 titles that are going to be released between now and Christmas. The games we know about are Mario Super Sluggers (August), Wario Land: Shake It (September), Animal Crossing: City Folk (November), and Wii Music (November).
Now, I could be wrong, but both Mario Super Sluggers and Wario Land: Shake it do not seem like the type of games Nintendo would use as their "Big" titles going into the holiday season (I could see an emphasis on Animal Crossing and Wii Music though). What this has me expecting is at least 1 big title (or possibly 2) for Nintendo to be announced for an October or December release and potentially 1 smaller title (or possibly 2) for a September, October or December release.
