If Nintendo published it, that would continue the stereotype that only Nintendo games sell on the Wii.

No because the game wouldn't be 1st party. It would still be third party. If you use this method toward Nintendo games, then how about we do this for Microsoft and Sony published games. I wonder how much of those consoles would seem to rely on first parties.

That won't stop fanboys from saying it.  If it's published by Nintendo, in their minds it's a Nintendo game.  And I believe it would be considered a 2nd party game, not 3rd.

A second party wouldn't apply to a game rather than a developer. Second party developers are wii exclusive third party developers. Most of the time it is because they develop 1st party games that are owned by the first party. Camelot is an example of this. They only develop on the Wii, Ds, and PC. When they do develop for Nintendo consoles they usually make games that are Nintendo owned such as golden sun. Silicon Knights use to be another example. But I do agree to fanboys it would seem the same, but I would much rather the people at HVS to suceed with a good game and bring more, than have a bigger chance of failing just so we have arguments against fanboys.
