"New"(or application there of) technology can only go so far. It must also be backed up by a new business model, new set of values with a focus towards everyone rather than just the smaller upstream. Nintendo has done this. Which means that it's not about any ONE of these factors. What drives the Wii is that these 3 different elements are just ONE whole. Nintendos plan would have failed if they relied on just one element.

Nintendo advertising to just the "core" gamers. Wiimote would fail as most want HD gfx.

Nintendo just focusing on "casual". No Wiimote would cause fail since games would be hard to get into. No button press is more fun than swinging the racket.

Nintendo making "casual" games, but advertising to "core" games with or without Wiimote would fail.

Nope, it's one package.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
