"The Blu-Ray Conglomerate" is not independent news sources and analysts. If they choose not to count streamed VOD which people do not pay for (which is what the movie studios actually care about), then what is the problem? I really don't think people can hold it against the Blu-Ray Forum that analysts and movie studios don't think it is that important.

Why is it the Blu-Ray Forum's fault? None of these numbers I posted here came from them.

Question, who do you think pays for the majority of studies about Blu-ray and HD sales?

Most studies even independent ones are going to be paid for by them or by others that have a stake in blu-ray succeeding. That's just how the world of this stuff works.

The reason to count it is easy though... because if you don't count it. You aren't getting a makeup of how much of the market you've actually captured.

Free VOD is paid for in other ways adds and such... and it effects movie studios decisions... as they have to deal with how much buisness is being lost to VODs and need to adapt to new trends in the market.

By ignoring it you risk the same problem the record companies have.

Either way VOD is far greater the Blu-ray... the fact that the stuff you showed doesn't count a lot of VOD because they don't want to doesn't change that fact.
