A few notes about FFVXIII coming to Xbox 360 (both for and against), and a few questions for the VXIII fanbase that know more about it than I:

When is VXIII coming out in relation to the mainline XIII?

The reason I ask this is that, depending on when it comes out, will play a large part in determining if there will be a port of VXIII to 360. Theoretically, if VXIII launches later (6+ months after XIII launches in it's last major territory), I would give VXIII a higher chance to come to the 360.

Ultimately, what will determine VXIII coming to the Xbox 360 is one simple thing: Money. Just like XIII. Microsoft has a make-or-break next year or so to determine what happens. Tales of Vesperia is launching in 2 weeks, followed by Infinite Undiscovery, and more importantly: The Last Remnant. Depending on how sales go for those 3 games (as well as later titles), will greatly determine VXIII's chances of being multiplat.

I would think that Square will most likely port VXIII to the Xbox 360, especially for Western audiences. I am certain that if VXIII is more action-based, ala Kingom Hearts (which, if it played like KH, but more dark and violent, I'd be estatic), then I think that Square would strongly be considering porting the game to the Xbo 360: Oblivion is well over 2 million copies sold, and Mass Effect (the closest game, I guess, to VXIII) hit 2 million copies sold this week, and is blowing past the sales rate Oblivion had too. Those 2 games, which have more to say than other typical JRPGs, could be telling on what Square does. The Xbox 360, love it or not, has had a very solid track record of selling Western-themed RPG games, and I am sure square has seen......

Game Xbox 360 Playstation 3
Oblivion 2.51m 0.74m
Mass Effect 2.0m
Marvel: UA 600,000+ 230,000 (no PAL for either)
Two Worlds 350,000 (NA Only)

So, looking at that, for Western RPGs (can you think of others?), the X360 has outsold the PS3 titles by insane margins for both multiplat titles, and also how well sub-par WRPGs (such as TW) have sold oh-so well on the 360.

I am sure Square is aware of such things, which has led to XIII coming to the X360. So again, lets see how this year's bumper crop of RPGs, both East and West fare. If they do very well, and lead the X360 to new heights (LO hitting 1m+, ToV, IU, and TLR all hitting 1m or more), I'd think that VXIII to X360 is nearly a shoe-in.

So Xbox 360 fans: Do your part. Buy RPGs on the Xbox 360. Lets get VXIII on the 360 so Starcraft doesn't have to buy a PS3.

that really isnt a balanced comparison.

The 360 was the only console out when Oblivian was released and there is the difference in market share when Marvel was released. I'm almost sure if both were released now they would sell pretty evenly.
