Just an anecdote for what it's worth: When I bought my PS3 at a local Gamestop, I asked if they were selling the units for PS3 any faster now due to the price drop. He flatly said "no." Getting him to talk to me was like pulling teeth for some reason.
Later on, while browsing the games, I over heard him tell another customer who was excited about the upcoming (or current release?) Blue Dragon demo on Live, and he said "Sony doesn't know what they are doing!" and they both laughed about the 80gig PR debacle.
So it leads on to wonder if he himself is just a bit biased and didn't bother to tell me the truth or they just really aren't selling.
Personally I think it's a mixture of both as my local town has three separate Gamestops and that the PS3 isn't selling THAT great. But it certainly is picking up sales.
