| shams said: This was reported months ago, and is a real issue. However, there is a secondary reason for causing this (its standby mode that does it AFAIK - not WiiConnect): This ONLY happens to people who regularly leave their Wii on standby for days WITHOUT turning it on. Turning it on, kicks in the fan and cools everything down. (I would imagine Kwaads Wii is toast by now - considering how rarely he uses it...;). My Wii is always on standby mode, and always has WiiConnect on - and has from the day I bought it. No ill effects. Should also be noted that I am sure Nintendo has already identified and fixed the problem (maybe a shift of components on the MB, or a extra heatsink or something). It has not become a major enough issue for them to talk about it publicly.

Well if the thing gets to hot in "Connect 24 State" there would be a simple fix: Let the fan run sometimes (1 minutes every hour). Basicly should be fixable per firmwareupdate if it is realy a big problem.
