I don't think your comparison is fair, as, being much newer and having a limited lineup, PS3 owners ended up buying these games because they had to play something...anything...at all.

You were talking about attatch rates, but you ignored the overall attatch rates, which are barely over 1 for PS3. There are many games avilable for 360 in Japan. There aren't for PS3. The sales are currently split amongst far fewer competing titles.

Anyway, the point is Xbox has always done worse than PS in Japan when the two systems were at parity or favouring Sony (game title support and price). Right now they aren't. 360 is cheaper and certainly doesn't have worse support atm, even in Japan. I'd say Japanese gamers (who are very much turned off both alternatives right now) may actually end up considering a 360 for DMC4 and such, because they can save some money on the system.

No one pays $600 (or $500, or even $420 for the 20GB Japanese unit) for as yet non-existent quirky-wierd games. Not even in Japan.

The PS3 attach rate now stands at 1.5. It's not my fault that PS3 owners in Japan are primarily desiring the PS3 for Blu-Ray, and not games. If more X360 games are out, wouldn't that make it harder for the multi-ports to sell better on the X360, since there's a stronger lineup of 1st party games? Your logic is wrong. Since the tier rates are low for the PS3, it should make them go out and buy alot of games that are new. The tier ratio is steadily increasing, because as of Golden Week, the ratio was at 1.1, and it's increased by nearly 50% in just 3 months. Again, must I mention that despite the PS3 having the lower tier ratio, it *has* sold twice the number of hardware units LTD of the X360, and leads it by about 6:1 when considering where the X360 was at this time last year? Not only this, the X360 attach ratio was much closer to the PS3s at this point in it's lifecycle LTD. Although the X360 stands around 3.4 attatch ratio, the 360 was around 2.0 at this point last year. That still didn't manage to screw up my comparisons of Enchant Arms, did it? And again, we're talking mostly western multi-ports here. Im just trying to be fair, and despite the attach ratios being lower for the PS3, it is, and will, sell at a 2:1 for software, like it should.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
