That's pretty much what I've been thinking. I'm guessing the problem fans have is not that the "core" titles aren't coming - we KNOW they are, we KNOW many of the titles in development (Mad World, Conduit, Zelda, Icarus), and we are pretty sure of others (Punch Out).
So it's not that we think the game won't be there. I think it's that many gamers were just... insulted by the way Nintendo seemed to ignore them in the conference. Like Star Wars fans before the prequels, we had all imagined what the conference COULD be, and instead we got... that. Which was nice. Polished. Professional. And it made the case Nintendo wanted to make. But it wasn't what WE wanted.
I got over it pretty quick, but I can understand why so many were disappointed. I don't get those who have just gone rabid, though.
