I think it's scheduled for March 2009, so hopefully they'll sort any issues out by then. Kotaku seemed pretty favorable toward it already. I don't have quite the faith in Obsidian that I do in BioWare (KOTOR1 was vastly superior to KOTOR2, IMO), but if it's anywhere in the ballpark - or even the parking lot - of Mass Effect's greatness, this is a must buy for me.
Anyway, I hope you're right. Microsoft haven't shown any games that are scheduled for much beyond the holiday season- except FFXIII, of course. No telling what they've got lined up.
