3 million sounds extremely optimistic to me, did Sony ever come close to such a shipment number for PS3 outside of the holidays?

 

thats impossible! even in the holidays they didnt get that high!

We're talking about 3 months worldwide shipment numbers here, so during the holidays they get above it. 

 

at the last holiday how much did they ship worldwide?

They shipped somewhere between 4 and 5 million PS3s if I remember correctly.
