Couple things:

1) Yes - this is the month Wii passes 360 in the USA by NPD (10.9m to 10.5m probably)

2) From what I've seen in the archived industry trade sites, the top non-holiday/non-launch month for a console in the USA was PS2 in 2002 after it was $200 vs. $300. But PS2 never topped 700k except in holidays supposedly. Wii has topped 700k twice now, without a price cut, and likely did it again this month.

3) If Nintendo really intends to launch Wii in China, they have to catch and slightly surpass monthly demand in the USA with greater supply. To do that, I think they may need a few 1m/month non-holiday months over the next 12.

As for the week ending June 28th, our data showed one last big Wii shipment arriving in time for the end of Nintendo's 1st quarter (which runs April 1 to June 30)

To add further.  PS2's best non-holiday month ever was June 2002 selling 690k.  After that point, it sold 500k+ in non-holiday months just 4 more times.

Wii has already had 5 non-holidays months of 500k+ sales not including tonights numbers.

EDIT: Just to show how far Nintendo has come, the best non-holiday month for GC ever was Oct 2003 with 250k sold.  The Wii has never had a month that low...ever.
