Ocarina of Time. Gameplay holds up much better, visuals hold up much better, and was straight up a better game when they both released.
Ocarina of Time: helped pull the gaming industry forward towards a 3d gaming paradigm alongside SM64. Z-targeting anyone?
Also, the speed running scene is legendary.

Not the first 3D game with a targeting system. This one probably isn't either.

Hmm, looking at 1:23:00 and 1:25:00 of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcSmu4jjmys . Doesn't look quite like z-targeting. Close though.

Doesn't have the visual indicator, and Mega Man has to be stationary when he uses it. Other than that it's essentially the same.
Hmmmmm...well those of you that know me already know the answer.
So I am just going to say Chrono Trigger.
Final Fantasy IX.
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
Eehh weird pairing, but alright.
I love OOT, it is was/is very enjoyable but FF7 is my pick. It was THE RPG that put RPGs on the map. Personally I think it has better characters, story and gameplay. Both aged horribly so not much to defend on that end.
They're still shit compared to Chrono Trigger tho.
