I think it's time we invented a new verb. Let's call it the verb "To Nintendo" - meaning to copy, emulate, or steal the ideas, products or practices of Nintendo.

Uses: Microsoft is Nintendoing big time lately
Sony is confident that they can Nintendo quite well
I can't believe these guys hadn't Nintendoed earlier.

Hahah, Win!

This year, Sony and Microsoft decided to celebrate Nintendo by throwing a Nintendoing Gala Party in the fall.

This Metalocalypse scene sums up my feelings about Rare and Microsoft's use of them.

Replace fans with Rare and MS.

Pickles the Drummer: Dude, it was a fan attack! That's what Ofdensen warned us about!
Nathan Explosion: Why do fans feel that they have to do that? I mean, what, to get noticed?
William Murderface: I know. There's so many nice kids out there, and then just a couple of them gotta attack you. It just spoils it for everyone.
Nathan Explosion: I know, it's sad. It's sad for them.
Pickles the Drummer: It *is* sad. It's sad for *them*.
William Murderface: Seriously, it's pathetic. It just makes me feel sorry for them, that's all.

This is really dissapointing for me, because i expected something original, and it just goes to show how much autonomy Rare have lost.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

People have been using the term "Avatold" to prove to critics, and fanboys, how successful Avatar has actually been. I came up with "Nintentold", which seems appropriate.

So both Microsoft and Sony are making their own Wii Fit killers. Fantastic, this is going to be very interesting.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

www.xnagg.com/zombieasteroids/publish.htm

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Just one thing, isn't Rare just helping probably? They do a lot of stuff aren't they? I think MS use Rare this days to let them work on different projects.

Its so sad. Natal can offer some good stuff for the core audience, but instead they seem to want to get the casual audience that Nintendo already holds captive. If this truly is their business plan, Natal will flop badly. Casuals buy ONE system, and most have it by now, its the Wii. There already are over 10 fitness games on the Wii. A fitness game on Natal will not get casuals to buy a 360 nor Natal.

360 has carved its path as a "core gamer" system, where Nintendo has taken the casual reins. MS needs to accept its identity and stick with it, or they're going to really tank badly with Natal.

It's not like the expanded audience is gonna drop Wii Fit or the EA Fitness game whatever to run, and buy a Xbox for this game.

Also it's pretty sad that Rare is abandoning their creative side in the SNES and N64 era do just turn in a copycat.

Above: still the best game of the year.
