Forums - Nintendo Discussion - How did you become a nintendo fan?

Lets see I became a Nintendo fan when I was three maybe younger. Playing MarioBros and Donkey Kong on my Atari 2600. NES followed pretty quickly then SNES , N64 , GameCube. Up untill Wii I only purchased Nintendo hardware and if Nintendo hadn't said that Microsoft and Sony were no longer competition I still wouldn't own a competitors system. I love my Nintendo!

When we moved to Venezuela, I was about 3 years old. My dad had already bought a used Atari 2600 for us, but in christmas of that year (1989), he got us a NES. Let's say that Mario and Duck Hunt became my closests friends for a longgggggggg while! :D

Super Mario World on the SNES. Quite simply the greatest 2D platformer ever created. I was into gaming already but that made me sit up and take notice of Nintendo.

Then Zelda: Link's Awakening on the Game Boy sucked me in.

Super Mario Bros / Duck Hunt !!!

Same here.

Is there any other answer besides Mario for this question?(I didn't know pokemon was made by Nintendo when I was a little boy)

It's funny, the answer's kind of vague in my case. I had an Atari 2600, a Commodore 64, an Intellivision, and an NES, but the Game Boy was where I did most of my playing. At that time I didn't know who made what games, I was just concerned with having fun. It really wasn't until the Wii, when I got back into gaming and really got into the nuts and bolts of everything, that I really became a Nintendo fan.

So, you didn't know who made Mario in let's say 2005?

xD

Same here.  Never stopped being a fan.  I was skeptical, picking up Wii Sports Resort today.  However, I was pleased to discover it is actually fun!

I'm more a fan of the Wii than a Nintendo fan but since they make the Wii and DS...

I had gotten N64 and later a GC for my son. He loved them but the only games I ever played on them was Super Smash Bros and Kirby's Crystal Chronicles on N64 and SSBM and Burnout on GC.
He outgrew the GC and got a PS2. I played GTA:SA and more Burnout on that but that was it.

For his 16th he got a Wii (had a DS) which he loved but as it lacked PS2 type games more and more he became disenchanted with it, however, I LOVED it more and more as it suited my tastes and needs. He ended up selling his Wii (and DS) to me and bought a 360 and PSP. So Wii has become the first console I've owned since Colecovision. He still uses the Wii and I use his 360 on rare occasion.

I really fell in love with Endless Ocean and Fire Emblem. Love SSBB of course and to a lesser extent Mario Kart but otherwise not into the Nintendo franchises. Didn't care for Zelda or SMG or Metroid. I do love NSMBW and the Wii titles though. Would love more Kirby. Love playing point and click adventure titles from my couch, quirky titles like Dewy's Adventure, Let's Tap, Boom Blox, Dokapon Kingdom, Zack & Wiki and Opoona and games that rely more on thought than quick reflexes (Tenchu, Tiger Woods, Lara Croft), as long as they are also quick pick up and play titles. I simply haven't the time to invest in a RTS or JRPG for example (which includes FE and Tenchu but once in a while I manage to squeeze some in).

Mario at the very begin, then Pokemon

Pokemon got me to GC and Ds, then i was interested at Wii motion controls and then played Zelda, Metroid, SMG, SSBB....

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^
