Because some people buy the system, play wii sports and wii play then it sits in their closet forever gathering dust?

On the other hand the Dual Screens of the DS were called a gimick and it's become a huge success.

Imagine that, intuitive thinking.  Your entire post is moot in my opinion.  The six-axis requires a new console too, since you can't buy that controller for the PS2.

Since you do not want to use motion sensing, then don't buy a Wii. I'm not sure why you dive in to the possibilities of a PS2 controller using motion sensing to sell a console, because according to yor opinion you don't want motion control.  Your PS2 controller idea obviously wouldn't work in the ways a Wii-mote can, unless you.... severely change the PS2 controller.

Have you played MetroidPrime3 or RE4:Wii at all, in all honesty?

Checkers Age and replayability > Halo Age and replayability

Therefore, Checkers > Halo

So, Checkers is a better game than Halo.

 This is where adistinctive difference in buying a console instead of games comes in.  The computer mouse was shunned for years too.  Usually the senior citizens have problems adjusting and liking new tricks, but the gaming world seems to turn 15 to 25 year olds in to senior citizens who can't be taught new tricks.

I find the statements that "The Wii is just a toy!" more amusing.

Let me spell something out for those who hold this view: All consoles are toys. Don't delude yourselves into thinking that gaming on another platform is somehow serious work. You're playing with a toy, just like the rest of us.

Well... it is a gimmick. Graphics and processor power isn't up to snuff with the other 2 consoles that are next gen, all they have is the new fangled wiimote. That screams gimmick to me.

Sales will start to lose steam come mid year 2008 for the Wii.
