I couldn't agree with you more. Sony is always pushing for "new experiences" ps1 could be the clown from twisted metal or Jak and daxter. ps2 is Kratos no question and now with sackboy and the soon arrival of Kratos' 3rd edition sony is all the more diversified. resistance and uncharted are both built around characters named nathan.

Anyway, they'll probably never have a formal mascot. The idea of a mascot is largely outdated at this point. I guess you could consider Crash the unofficial mascot during the PS1 years but other than that, nothing. Except maybe Sackboy.

As a matter of fact this screen also brings back memories for me as well. I'm sure it does for some of you. I'm not sure if you remember this particular opening (this was actually on the original playstation game as well, when it was loading the game) of course I'm not a very good player even there. If Sony opts for a car as a mascot they should def. make it a talking car, that would actually be kinda cool.
