I just went through all my local newspapers Sunday inserts, and have to say that Sony has SERIOUSLY  stepped up marketing the flailing PS3 via paid placement almost everywhere. Best buy had several lead pages of Sony 'ads' led by PS3 on the cover. Actually , almost every flyer was either PS3 fronted, or big PS3/360 facing pages inside. The battle for #2 is going to get bloody. Most of the Wii mentions were in the form of software, both 1st and 3rd parties all over the paper, but oddly very few images of the actual Wii or ads for the system. I feel this might be a misstep by Ninty, as the product needs to be in peoples faces, even though it is still currently selling out. My favorite....

That's Christmas catalogs (which are used all season), this was just regarding the regular Sunday Paper inserts. 360, Wii & PS3 all seem to have good placement in the catalogs, but Sony is buying every available paid cover in the weekly inserts. There are several fliers with no Wii mention at, just PS3 and a little 360 (Circuit City, & K-Mart)

Hahahaha! That's bad.

Maybe putting Mario pics randomly on PS3 products will help build some momentum. It's worth a shot.

Yeah I did notice that some fliers had no wii pictures or games mentioned at all. That's a horrible mistake on both Nintendo and the retailers part...
