Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Do you want the DS brand to continue?

Or do you want it to be droped like Nintendo did with the Gameboy line?

For me Nintendo would simply call the next portable and upgraded models NDS2, NDS2 slim, NDS2i, etc...

I never cared much for handhelds and the DS is no different. But I realize the importance of the DS on the market, its making the developers and Nintendo some seriously huge mounds of cash and that benefits me as well!
So I guess my answer is yes!

Not necessarily.

I do want Nintendo to continue making games for handhelds they have themselves built, though. If they have to change the brand to move forward I guess that would be okay.

Only if it makes sense to continue it.

I actually miss my GameBoy, Ideally sticking with the name is flawed. I think Nintendo should follow their own example. Other then the Super Nintendo Entertainment system Nintendo home consoles have always had different names from console to console. Rather then DS2, DS3 etc....etc... I'd like to see them use another new name! With Nintendo in the name who cares what they call it, I'd much rather have a new origional name for a new origional product then a carbon copy name like DS2!

And here we go again... people telling Nintendo what they should do.

Comedy thread ensues. Carry on you people. *whip* I wanna laugh!

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)

Wii: 10^8

Not demanding enough frybread.

That sounds like just an idea, you have to talk like the entire world revolves around your esquisite mind. You have to be like "if it's not EXACTLY this, Nintendo can go F themselves!". Like that.

Yes, consumers wanting things from producers/developers, imagine that... one would almost be tempted to believe that this is how the market works, but that's just insane.

Well I'm not impressed with the DSi or this new monster screen DS.

Nintendo keeps repackaging it with little improvement. I hope the next DS model has a significant boost in specs and a browser worth using.
