Does anybody know what Japan's attitude is towards PC gaming? See, it strikes me as odd that Japan doesn't seem to have the xbox effect that it does in NA, specifically the PC/xbox releases. You'd think that much like Xbox systems have traditionally seen a lot of FPS's because the system gets a lot of PC conversions, you'd also get a lot of Japanese made PC games finding their way console wise, with the 360 being the obvious choice. So do Japanese gamers not use their PC's (which are all Microsoft Windows) for gaming? or is the system just so dead that these dev's choose not to take that easy route?

From my very limited understanding PC gaming in Japan is very tiny ... I remember reading about an American in Japan who was looking for PC games and he said (something like) they were tucked away in the back of a store like they were pornographic material ...

As far as I know... PC gaming is very small world in Japan. reasons is various... 1. FPS isn't popular with Japanese 2. Many people buy PC not to play game 3. PC of Major maker is lack of ability to play 3D gaming 4. small market to get profit. In Japan, well-sold PC gaming is called "Ero-ge-" that contains pornographic content... I think the market of PC gaming is almost dead

We should start a petition for Sony to allow smut on the Ps3. Well, to be fair, you could do 99% of all hentai games using blu-ray and hd-dvd interactive features(BD-J and HDi). I'd get Bible Black and Love fetish collection for sure.

There is no actual PC gaming community. Japan is very odd. Every other Asian culture has embraced PC gaming and MMOs like Korea and China have. Its very sad. If there was any PC community whatsoever, the 360 might have a snowballs chance in you-know-where to do somewhat better than it has currently.

Yeah the console has definitely become a Japanese beast. American consoling died in the mid-1980's & only Japanese companies kept up the fire. So it's no surprise that a phenomenon like this happens. John Lucas
