The Offical October 2009 NPD Thread (4 weeks ending Oct 31)

Forums - Sales Discussion - The Offical October 2009 NPD Thread (4 weeks ending Oct 31)

360 only 14% down on Oct 2008. That's pretty good in the grand scheme of things. November numbers will be interesting with the Walmart boost this week and a bounce from MW2 at least for a week. USA is about 87% of VGC Americas data? Nov '08 for USA was about 832K. So that is a key holiday '08 target for the 360.

PS3 will obviously exceed its Nov and Dec '08 numbers so nothing particularly noteworthy to say there.

Looks like Wii is on track to fall short of its '08 targets, but not by a huge margin. Still shows pricecut on an inexpensive console isn't much of a sales booster. NSMB is it's big hope for 2009.

I guess you are going off VGC numbers, but the 360 is down 32.6% versus October 2008 (NPD).

wii mega over tracked! 360 a little over tracked and ps3 spot on!

PS3 software still not picking up... thats a bit let down.. maybe software uptake will start couple of months after hardware boast.. But i think it will be a worry for Sony..

MW2 numbers for PS3 n XBOX are going to be a big judgement abt how good is the hardware boast really is.

Wow, Borderlands did great on 360. Uncharted 2 and Wii Fit Plus actually did a bit worse than I expected.

lol, I wish we had separate PSP go figures. Think SCEA will release them like NOA gave us DSi?

Can not believe Borderlands sold that well without any big advertising push (It is a good gamethough). Uncharted Numbers seem a bit of a downer. Such a great game deserves better.

Year over Year PSP is down 10% by NPD figures. However, since the Go costs more than the 3000 and presumably made up a significant portion of sales in October 2009 it is possible Sony earned more revenue on PSP this October than last October...which would be brag worthy. So we may get a break down of the split if Sony can brag PSP revenues increased year over year.

Terrible software number for Forza 3.... and Soccer game beating Demon's Souls is just as embarrassing.
