Christmas 2007:

Wii will trump the 360. 360 will trump the PS2. PS2 will trump the PS3. And DS will trump everything.

I'd love to see some of these posts resurrected in the betting thread. I'm sure there would be more than a few takers.

Maybe in NA, never worldwide. You will see my friend.

I have a feeling that Sony has one more surprise for the holidays. Maybe new bundles or a massive ad campaign or even both.

Also, I think with Haze, Uncharted and Ratchet (plus PES08, Assassin's Creed and CoD4) the "PS3 has no games" argument is harder to push. PS3 will have a pretty decent library for the Holidays.

On top of all this the PS3 is a better deal. Better hardware (no RRoD, no power brick) with more features (wifi, blu-ray, bluetooth) for little more money.

Optimistic predictions for 2008 (Feb 5 2008): Wii = 20M, PS3 = 14M, X360 = 9.5M

Meh. I disagree. At least proper grammar was utilized.

PS3 is so outselling Xbox 360.

That's a bold statement lad.

Welcome to Vgchartz, I'm the most handsome mod on the site and easily the most popular. Everyone loves me.

Thats exactly what I said to myself when I read the topic.

It seems as if Lance looks at the facts, and common knowledge tells him the PS3 will sell more.

I feel the same way sometimes, but the fact of the matter is- most people don't listen to facts.

Most people look at the library for the 360, they know their friend has one, and the decision is easy- go with the 360.

̶3̶R̶D̶   2ND! Place has never been so sweet.

Thats why I included 'assuming they are enjoying themselves.' Has he tried to peer pressure you into getting it? I'm just curious.

Not really. He tries to defend the game but he does not try to push it on me too hard. We've been friends for a long time. We also play Warhawk together and he actually enjoys Warhawk :)

Have you ever played Warhawk? Did you like it?

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

I remember in elementary school when we were in the fourth or fifth grade we were given an assignment to pretend to be Santa. The second graders would write a letter to Santa, and we would have to write the reply. Yes I know utterly creepy, but it was our first exercise in that most adult of skills deceptive evasion. How exactly do I tell this little kid no without shattering their illusions.

A kid in the second grade thinks Santa can bring anything including a eight hundred dollar go cart. The funniest reply I ever heard was the following. HO HO HO Maybe next year. Probably worked wonders too perhaps by next year they would have forgotten this year.

So lance in response to your eloquent, intelligent, and grammatically stimulating question I answer with a resounding.

Ho Ho Ho Maybe next year!!!!

stof is being stubborn with the goodies? Such a tease.

lol Dodece....an unusually funny post from you.

If the PS3 sells twice as many systems as the 360 this holiday season, it will still be millions of consoles behind. The 360 is no slouch. It is this underestimation of the 360 that has killed the PS3 so far. Sony needs to acknowledge that there is another player in the High Def market and begin posturing itself for a long drawn out struggle to attain a share. The 360 is not going anywhere, and the PS3 isn't impressive enough yet to snag people from the 360 camp. Until the PS3 really creates something special that people can't get on the 360, they will be resigned to taking the scraps that the 360 leaves behind. Sony needs to quit hanging their hats on what is comming, and start impressing now. Remember, Microsoft is quickly developing their next console, and the PS3 really hasn't gotten out of the gates yet.
