Development was actually paid for by Sony. They own the IP. It's a second party title, much like Ratchet & Clank or LittleBigPlanet.

The only reason Atlus published it in NA is because SCEA lacked the balls to do so.

Your going to edit another wiki to prove your point? ~_n

I included various sources in that article that could not be refuted, so I fail to see the relevnce.  :P

As for the topic of Demon's Souls, there's a reason even the North American version that was not published by Sony still references "Sony Japan Studio" at the start of the game.  It was a joint effort between Sony Japan and From Software.

Is this a contention point? Because the Demon's Souls web page has this in the footer:

©2009 Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. Licensed to and published by Atlus U.S.A., Inc.

that seems to mean that the IP is owned by Sony.

Sony payed for development, there is Sony computer entertainment logo when it starts. Atlus is just publisher for USA, has no rights over IP. It is like when Capcom published GOW and GOW 2 in Japan. Nothing special.
Case closed, only retard can ask such question. Buy PS3 if you want to play it, if not, move on and shut up.

If Microsoft gives Atlus enough money I'm sure it could happen since Demon's Soul isn't anything fantastic graphics or scale-wise but I really doubt it's going to happen.

As good as Demon's Soul is, I doubt it's worth the risk and money it would take to port it.

Some games are exclusives and that's just the way it is.

All Atlus did to this game is publishing this game and suggesting a better English translation.....

Microsoft turned down this game and chose Ninja Blade.  Thank god they didn't choose Demon's Souls

I would love to find out more about this, because the quote above implies that Sony went to them, or at the very least Sony went into this deal hoping to get a King's Field-esque game out of it.  It doesn't really sound like From Software when shopping for a puiblisher, and Sony simply jumped on it.

I remember it's from the interview with the producer.  He mentioned he presented both games to Microsoft and Sony.  Microsoft chose Ninja Blade and Sony picked Demon's Souls.  He was surprised by this because he thought it should be the other way around.

Dude, that was unnecessary. He got confused because Atlus published the game in the US.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

In fact, I'm shocked Sony has snagged HEAVY RAIN as their own IP, it's still owned by Quantic.

They could move in and buy Quantic Dream if it sells well.

I dont think MS would pay for something like that. While it looks like a fantastic game...its no system seller in Japan and it will probably not be a million seller in NA and EU combined on PS3...let alone on 360.

If MS wants to go after a niche title from Sony's catalog, I wouldn't mind getting some Siren on my 360. :)

Jesus...when will ppl like you learn that sony doesn't publish a game if they don't get to own all right to IP?!! HR IP is owned by Sony, they are published and pour money into it, that said HRain IP is irrelevant because there won't ever be a sequel (confirmed by David Cage)

Like makingmusic said..Sony owns the IP, so it´s not going to the 360.

But john, since you´re getting a PS3 sooner or later, you´ll get to play it either way :)

Yeah I just don't want to wait that long to play it lol.
