Forums - Gaming Discussion - Turn 10: "Difficult" to replicate Forza 3

they dont comment about the fact they have 2 fold less cars on race ?

whatever, we will wait GT5 release to wonder who has the "physics crown"
At least, they recognize they are challenged (and beaten according to me) in the graphical departement ...
Turn10 is just making damage control about 4 months of bullshots.
.... these guys are so insecure ...

Nice 4 pages of insecure Sony fans ranting on Turn 10, another bullshit thread.

Not surprised. Forza 2 had 360HZ physics and no other game has yet to replicate it except for Forza 3.

we are not bashing the game by any way, we are just responding to the 4 months damage control of Turn10 and the one presented in this current thread :
"we may not haver the best grahpics (compared to GT5), but we have the best physics" ...

Funny how Turn10 compares to GT while PD compares to real life ...

and if those threads look pathetic to you then you can thx Turn10 poor PR comments again lol

You really need to question who the inse4cure ones are... the defensive people like you? or the ones saying this guys a douche for a douche comment he made

It's not Turn 10 who is arrogant, it's only one man.

Dan Greenawalt is just the type of person with a big mouth, just like Davud Jaffe.

Er.. David Jaffe might have a big mouth..

But not once has he ever displayed such complete disregard for morals and respect like this man. He would never call down his competetion like that.

And people on this forum need to do the same. Seriously. "Forza 2 has 360mhz physics and no game will beat that except forza 3."

Do you have any idea what the PS3 was made to do? Make that 360mhz physics engine look like legos. PD could potentially use an entire SPE just for physics, maybe even two.

Im not saying they will, point is, the game isn't out yet. How about we wait?

Anyone care to explain what 360mhz physics is? And what does GT5:P or NFS use?

I don't understand how you guys can say turn 10 is insecure about their product. From everything I have seen of it they are happy with it and are outspoken if anything. If anyone could be considered insecure it would be the GT team. They have been working on their product for god knows how long and were supposed to release it this year. Then they get a look at F3 and decide to push it back 6months + because they didn't want to be beaten. Just my opinion...

Their arrogance is going to lead to their downfall. Sounds familiar...

Nah not at all, It's their attitude that's arrogant not the product. If it doesn't set the world alight, even if they had been saints and praised PP and GT to hell, it wouldn't make a difference.

It's 360 Hz - not MHz. The definition of the unit Hertz (Hz) is "one cycle per second". What this means is Forza 3 completes all the physical calculations it uses during gameplay 360 times per second. MHz would mean it is doing this 360 million times a second - that's just not possible on these boxes. The game displays itself at 60 Hz so for every frame you see on screen, everything behind the scenes has been calculated 6 times. It's quite intriguing to watch the telemetry as all this happens.

Whether or not this matters depends solely on the accuracy and precise modelling of natural physical systems. I mean, any game could refresh their physics 360 times per second but using physical models that provide a near 1:1 with actual real-world physics is the challenge. I could make a basic VB game that refreshes itself at 360 Hz but my only physics calculation could be y = y + 0.5. It's doing 360 Hz but the physics suck! and are not representative of anything in the real world.

As for what GT5:P and NFS use, I have no clue. I'll go look it up but my best bet for NFS is either 30 or 60. Will post again if I find anything!

P.S. Sorry if I sounded as if I was talking down. I read the post back after posting it and it does sound that way. Didn't mean to. Cheers!
