Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo are better than Rio de Janeiro.

Double post...

Sorry, but NO!!!!!!!

Sao Paulo is truly bad with traffic jams and it does not have the beauty of Rio.

And Buenos Aires, well its from Argentina. So thats your answer right there.

PS - I have no bias against Argentina. Zexen will vouch for me.

Yup, that's the correct answer, being ti from Argentina means it's better than anything Brazil can put

Speaking seriously, the Olympics for Rio are greatly deserved, and will surely boost them as city. Think of all the improvements that will need to be made (like transport), that remains after the Olympics are done, in the end it'll be great benefit for Rio.

I think we could host the Olympic Games in Buenos Aires pretty much fine. Seriously, don't believe some people that make it seem that a 3rd world country is a place where people live in shacks and you get robbed at every corner. Yes, there are poor people, but so there are in every city in the world, same with traffic jams and so on. But in the end, I don't think you'd find Buenos Aires much different to any other 10+ million people city in the world (but this one has free universities! )

Rio is a beautiful city I heard. It will benefit a lot from the Olympics.

Chicago was the front runner and they finished last LOL. I'm pretty sure that Buenos Aires will get the Olympics by 2032 or earlier they finished in the top four for bid cities three times already. I wonder what will happen first though a Word Cup in Australia or the Olympics in an African country.

hmmm, imagine that, Obama fails to woo the masses...I rejoice! Anyway, I don't know if having it in a place with a high crime rate is a good idea, after all, there was a lot of crime taking place at the Beijing Olympics. But I guess people don't learn from their mistakes.

Chicago was only the front-runner in the media because they were delusional enough to believe that Obama would make a difference ...

The United States has hosted the Olympics 8 times which is more than any other country in the world, traditionally have difficulty getting full crowds to any sport that American athletes are not favourites in, have some of the least respectful crowds (often booing competitors who beat American atheletes), and often are logistical nightmares. Chicago has been in the news recently for an incident which demonstrated that the city can't keep school children safe when walking home from school which begs the question of how safe athletes and tourists will be when they come to the city. Finally, since the late 90s the IOC has been aggressively trying to fight the image that they award the Olympics based on factors outside of the actual proposals, so brining in president Obama and Oprah (along with famous athletes) to sell Chicago to the IOC was probably the opposite of what Chicago should have done.

Realistically, anyone who has watched this happen in the past knew that Rio was going to win ...

Edit:  I should also have added that Chicago doesn’t really stand out culturally in a way that really lends itself to attracting events like the Olympics. The Olympics tends to rotate (to a certain extent) between the big "Dream Cities" and smaller cities that offer a distinct culture; Chicago isn’t really either.

If someone from vgchartz is coming here, that could be a good oportunity to get drunk with strangers from the internet that you've never met.

Quem disse que a boca é tua?

Qual é, Dadinho...?

Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!

opps, lol, I got interuppted in the middle of my post and forgot to add "is a good idea" after "I don't know if having it in a place with a high crime rate"

Anyway, I was not defending Chicago, that would have honestly been one of the worst places to have it IMO. I completely agree with you on your assertion of Chicago. Anyway, I guess I have not heard booing from American crowds, but then, I always watch it on TV so I could be missing that (if it is true, well, that's just shameful). However, anywhere can be a logistics nightmare, and no matter where they are hosted, full crowds are not going to happen in any sport that isn't the favorite of the country's demographics. So the only reasons the US didn't get chosen were A. Chicago, B. It's somebody elses turn.

I don't watch the olympics, but I'm glad Obama didn't get what he wanted. HAHA

PS - Zexen, I could invite you to stay with me for you to save some money. But I wont!

What a bastard!

Well, he is from Argentina!

And he would just go there to steal my PS3!

Yes, in 2016, Zexen still wont have a PS3.

Then I guess you could invite me.

OT:I think besides Brazil, Argentina and Chile there isnt a country safe enough and with good economy that could host them.

The problem with the olimpics is that they take place in a determined city, so all your infrastructure(stadiums, etc...) has to be in it. I think we could host something smaller like pan american games in Santiago if the goverment decided to spend money in it, but as we are now, we could never do it.

And I think Madrid would have been my choice, but the London games are in the same continent, Tokio had a lot of its people against them and I wouldnt like the most important sport being played in an ugly american football field in chicago, besides, I dont think its a safe place, not a lot more than Rio.
