My "phat" PS3 is always on stand by when off, and I have had it for about 19 months with no problems, so I wouldn't think it would matter, and your logic behind not leaving it in standby doesn't make any sense.

Your slim will be just fine in hybernation. If you're leaving the country for a week though, you might as well turn it off to save on the electricity.

Most times i leave my PS3 fat, PS2 and TV in stand by, the only problem is some electricity you spend by not turning off.

Why do you unplug your phat when you turn it off...?

It only uses about 7 watts when in standby.

I don't leave my PS3 on standby. It still be on and it still use electricity so it's best to turn it off. I thought leaving it on standby could cause it to get the YLOD too. I could be wrong but I think it's best to not leave it on standby.

i usually leave remote play on so when i standby the system cools down fast

:)
