My Predictions
NA = Yes (85,000 xbox - 75,000 PS3)
Japan = NO (<5000 xbox - 45,000 PS3)
Others = NO (65,000 xbox - 100,000 PS3)

Overall 155,000 xbox - 220,000 PS3

Isn't Bioshock out at this side of Christmas, and I thought MAG is in March ? Not too sure about Splinter Cell Conviction though, haven't been following the series, lol. But I could always be wrong I guess...

Splinter Cell and MAG are January, BioShock 2 is February.

Splinter Cell is February 23rd actually.

So you think ODST is going to cause a sales increase of about 50,000 consoles? I don't think the PS3 and 360 will only be 30,000 units apart. Look at this past week, they are about 110,000 consoles apart. Looking at that, your prediction for the 360 is a tad high IMO.


ODST will have only a slight impact, the elite rebate should increase sales a tad as well, but both combined will likely see a modest bump for 360 and definitely prevent it from sliding to pre elite price drop

On the PS3 side it should be reasonable to expect it to continue to slide an additional 10 - 15 % from the prior week.

I gotta agree with the majority - no

PS3 sales fell 18% last week (although admittedly Japan barely dropped due to ToV)

Lets say it drops another 18% - with a larger Japanese drop than last week but smaller drops elsewhere - the drops after a price cut tend to get smaller, until the sales settle at some point. I think this is probably the worst case scenario for the PS3, the actual drop is likely to be less imo.

That would put PS3 sales near 207k (as a worst case)

To achieve that, the 360 would need a 50% increase week over week - unachievable imo
