Forums - Sony Discussion - GT5 DAMAGE on ALL CARS confirmed by IGN

^^
If they wanna keep on selling their tin boxes they must do them cheaper and more fuel saving.
The most fuel saving compact and citycars available now and in the next future are out of reach just for people that most need them and that are usually lured towards the end of the year, or even more at the change of emissions rules, with discounted piles of obsolete junk.

exactly. for the production cars.

even if they allow the games to damage the cars, it will be limited and not realistic.

Well GT needs to stop referring to themselves as "The Real Driving Simulator" until they get that worked out. Thats why i could never get into any of the other GT games. I hope this one is at least kind of standable when it comes to the crashing though.

Cool. I like to be an idiot in racing games and make my cars suffer. This, will satisfy me :3.

Just hoped it comes out soon...

Driving =/= crashing.

Find one game that has "realistic" damage on production cars.

Btw, GRID's damage is not realistic nor they have any production cars.

I am not saying there is a game like that. Hence why i have never bought a driving game... I am not saying this game wont be good. The Graphics and actually racing look superb to any racing game i have ever seen. But for me at least, damage needs to at least feel kind of real. If i drive 60 mph into a wall and my car comes out with a tiny dent i gridge.  Its kinda a pet peeve

GT5 is gonna be just great. They are adding extra stuff and working very hard. If they was selling the game for $100 I would gladly pay that cause I know it will be the best racing game out.

I think the developers can easily do that. They can end the race and total your car when you crash. But that will probably make 90% of the casual players cant even finish one lap. It's going to cause a lot of frustrations for the casual players.

If you want racers with better crash system, you can look for the PC games.

As they put so many efforts in doing a faithful simulation, wasting them unavoidably reducing the verisimilitude is a real sin, the solution could be very simple: like in GPL, they could make the fidelity of damage simulation adjustable.

A good idea would be to total your car on a harder difficulty or have an option in general for this.
