Forums - Nintendo Discussion - has nintendo been making wiis at full compasity the last few months?

I was just wondering if anybody knows if they have had to cut back production or if they are still at full compacity (2 millionish a month, i forget how much exactly) if they have been making wii's like normal, won't that mean they will have millions more wii at this christmas than last year?

anyone know? i haven't heard anything on this in months.

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=76669&page=1

Oh I do remember they said they could only make 1.2 million a month but that's climbed now, Reggie said, I don't know how much but it must be quite a lot now. I should think they will sell a lot of stocks near Xmas.

Most likely they are producing at the same rate they were at the beginning of the year (when they last had a shortage). Their forecast for this fiscal year had them selling pretty much everything they produced. So yes, they should have plenty of stock for this Christmas season.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Come on man compasity??

I remember in one of trestres's threads, he said it was at 2.4 million per month, which would indicate that there are probably at least 10 million of these things sitting in warehouses somewhere.

If they convince the market that its worth it to buy all of them this holiday season, we're going to see some major pwnage.

one of the reasons for the price cut is probably the mouting costs of storage

Yep. This massive stock overflow due to lagging sales is the exact reason why Wii is moving to $199.

Get ready for the storm of a $200 Wii + Wii Fit+ + NSMBWii + Black Wii + noteworthy 3rd party titles.

Oct-Dec will be almost double last year.

i would imagine theyre running at max capacity so they dont run out again this holiday season esp now that it looks like the price will drop to $199

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. @superchunk: Impossible, sales won't double from last year.

OT: I don't know whether or not Nintendo kept their factories at full capacity or not, but if they did, which was about 2.4 million/month, they already have a surplus of 11.6 million, and will have more by November, since there won't be 2.4 million Wii's sold in October by any means.

We could be looking at 13 million Wii's available at storage houses before the Holiday season starts, then add up the 4.8 from Nov+Dec and you get about 17 million Wii's available this Holiday season. Of course they won't sell out since it's impossible, but sales could be bigger than last year, although with demand being down from last year we can't say anything yet. My be is that they will sell roughly the same than last year.
