September 21, 2009 by The News Team Filed Under: Wii, Nintendo in general

Talk about a mistranslation! Awhile back, we heard that Suda51 was calling it quits for the No More Heroes franchise on Wii. That interview went on to say that the franchise was going to continue on 360 or PS3. A sad day for Nitnendo fans, it was.

Well I have great news...that interview was mistranslated! Suda has full intentions of continuing the franchise...but he'll do so on Nintendo's next platform! Check out this portion of a 1up interview with Suda...

1UP: You mentioned once that No More Heroes 2 would be the last game in the series on Wii. Have you done any experiments on what it might be like on another platform, especially with the new motion controllers that have been announced for other systems?

GS: Actually, I answered differently, and it may have been misinterpreted. What I wanted to say was, looking at the Wii, I think No More Heroes 2 will probably be the last iteration for this current platform. But there's probably going to be a "Wii 2" or other next-gen system from Nintendo at some point, so I was saying that I would want to do another game in the series on the next Nintendo platform.

I want to continue the No More Heroes series, but I've finished the story for Travis. It's completely finished in No More Heroes 2. So I want to think of a different story -- a different character, or something like that within the series -- starting on the next Nintendo platform.

Well, that's much better! I have a huge smile on my face after reading that. I also got a smile when I read Suda's impressions of Miyamoto...

1UP: Yeah, I don't think Mr. Endo became very recognized in America, because of bad timing, I guess, which was kind of a shame.

GS: Oh, is that so? Yeah, he's a videogame god.

1UP: Even higher than Erik Chahi? [Laughs]

GS: Well, Erik is still human. Endo, Miyamoto... they're the gods

Make sure to check out the full interview here, which has tons of No More Heroes/No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle talk

Around the Network

Don't want to say "I told them so like many others did" but yeah "I told them so like many others did".

Oh geez haha that's pretty clever. Of course there were a lot saying that it didn't mean last on Nintendo platforms just probably the Wii. Of course it's always good to have logical interpretations of things like this eh.

But yea can't wait for the 2nd one and then see where he progresses from there.

awesome!

I thought it was odd why he would switch it like that...

Former something....
