@tedteriscool

no 3rd place console has EVER got a 1 million week in the holiday season

No 3rd place console has ever turned around to have a 500k re-launch.

No third place console will sell as much as some first place consoles.

i dont know. Wait till the slim fever wears off adn we'll see where it balances off, but seems a bit high

Yes its likely

Lol they did 500k in one week (half of their last quarter sales :P), and I bet it will be around 6million+ PS3's sold in Holiday season.

So..
Yes or can come pretty damn close

A lot of delusional people in this thread. As delusional as the ones saying that Wii will reach the 26 million projection.

None is even going to come close. Unless retailers are willing to have 4 - 6 million units on the shelves.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Only delusion I see is yours... tell me... during the holidays when the 360 sold about 6 million consoles does that mean MS shipped 12 million units like youre suggesting?

I see 13 million happening. I expect at least (1) 1 million week for the PS3 this holiday.

I agree, and I'll take Sony's projections over some wannabe fake analyst on VGChartz.

Are people forgetting Sony has been in the electronics business for decades? Do you really think YOU know more than them?

Hang on a sec... GT5, FF13, GOWIII, Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain, MAG + multiplats... yes. Just think of the sales alone in Japan for Dec. Should be close to a mil just there.

YES!

Playing and finishing games first>>>>>>>>>>Then talking!

If the PS3 can keep up the momentum, then it will likely reach Sony's projections. If not, then Sony could be in trouble. I still don't understand why Sony doesn't go by 'sold to consumers' rather than 'sold to retailers.' If they were to still go by the older method, then they a wake-up call. It was like that in the past when they said they made their projections, yet us consumers saw a lot of the PS3s on store shelves...

Because Sony doesn't sell electronics to consumers. They sell to retailers. It's a whole lot easier to account for what you yourself are doing rather than what a bunch of random retailers are doing.

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

i think they'll fall just short
