If this is a serious question, it goes back to when ioi was a member on NeoGAF. From my understanding, he posted numbers but members there were not satisfied with his methodology or his sources. Eventually he was banned from there for effectively making things up and being unable to justify his numbers (according to them), and went on to start VGchartz.

That mindset continues to this day, with VGC data still being seen by many as inaccurate or even outright wrong. This is the highly condensed version, but hopefully you get the idea.
