if this is Sonys doing, then they suck at it... there is a limit to how much it can be hyped before people get tired of it... Also it gives the other companies to plan ahead...
I for one am tired of these rumors...

If Sony would keep every single thing secret until the day they announce them, then no one has something to talk about. PS3 Slim, PSP Go, no one would have talked about it beforehand if it weren't for the rumors that were spread. They have the attention of the audience, even people that don't like rumors are talking about it.

I am sorry I am not going to give credence to the notion that Sony has suddenly obtained a gift for being subtle or clever. I would even say in fact that the weight of evidence is with me. Have we all forgotten the all I want for Christmas is a PSP campaign. How about denying a price cut two days before it goes in place. How about the claims that the PS3 was sold out. When we could all see the shelves at stores choked with them. Hey what about the graffiti campaign. I could keep rattling them off.
Anyone thinking that Sony did a radical about face here is ignoring the precedent of recent history. Further more if your saying this is how the other manufacturers do business your very wrong. The likes of Nintendo and Microsoft rarely offer adamant denials. They usually respond with a no comment. That way it doesn't blow back on them.
This isn't just a matter of their gaming division either, but it is the one most of us are familiar with. Were you interested in televisions, computers, or movies. You might be fairly familiar with leaks in those areas, and bad marketing.

While evolution is reasonably simple, it's nowhere near as simple as "God did it". Much like a full explanation of how babies are made is more complicated than "the stork brings them". The simple answer is rarely the correct one.
