Forums - Microsoft Discussion - WiFi on 360 without paying for over priced adapter?

I ave everything in my living space running off of wireless but my 360 of course doesn't have it. I refuse to spend over $85 for something I know damn well costs tem less than $9 most likely to make. It is absurd pricing and it pisses me off because I do not want long, ugly ass wires behind my TV set. My PS3, 360, Wii, TV, Surround Sound, etc... already give me enough and I also don't feel like busting a hole in the wall just to set that shit up.

Is there anyways for me to get my 360 connected without that over priced peice of trash? There has got to be a way right?

*Please no "Online is better with wired". I could care less about everyone else and wireless has never given me any problems yet, including 60-man on R2.*

Can a USB wireless adapter work with it?

Either way though it may still run me over $40 and that still makes me angry. >

I love no wires.

Is this supposed to read "Well I guess you can't play online if you can't use a wire"?

I saw a tutorial how to make a Linksys router a wireless adapter for your 360, but again you need a cable to connect the router to your xbox, plug in the router on a power suply and flash the router to put a different firmware on it so it acts like a wireless antena.

That's just not worth the effort and instead of a cable you'll have a wireless router in the back of your TV.

Other adapters I don't think they work. Mine was about 90$

It's pretty much the only way, sorry :/

Well the MS adapter is via USB through the back of the console aswell (or front USB ports if you like).

I'm not sure there are any 3rd party wireless adapter accessories available and I'm not sure a random USB wireless adapter would work either.

Best bet is to go wired, cough up the $85 or go through EBay Unfortunately.

Sounds like I am out of luck then. Oh well thanks anyways.

I just finished building the upstairs of the house because of the birth of my little one but when we put up the wall panels, sheetrock, finished the painting, etc... we never had any lines run through the walls downstairs and into the upstairs of the house so trying to get all that done now not only would be a pain in the ass but I also just don't have that kind of time anymore.

I wanted Turtles in Time.

There are alternatives from different networking manufacturers. TRENDnet has one at about 50$:

http://www.trendnet.com/products/proddetail.asp?prod=185_TEW-647GA&cat=76

In Spain: http://www.lhst.es/tew-647ga-adaptador-inalambrico-n-para-consola-de-videojuegos.html

If it's considered advertising, I think a mod will delete this post. I know Belkin has another one, and there should be more brands.

Linksys has what you are looking for.
