Forums - Sony Discussion - Should Sony re-release Killzone 2 for the holidays?

They should not because that would be a waste of money.
No offense, KZ2 is a good game, but without any strong competition and dispite huge marketing campain, it wasen't able to attract much players.
During X-mas, among other big title and, especially Modern Warfare 2, I really doubt it can stand out.

I'd rather see Sony push Uncharted 2 cause that's their X-Mas hit, without any direct competition.

Yes i wanted a Mountain dew Killzone flavored coca-Cola.

hmmm...isnt there a MGSS4/kz2 bundle alrdy? they shud just advert the hek out of it.

They should stick with advertising Uncharted 2. I really don't think anyone will care about another FPS with CoD:MW2,L4D2, and Halo: ODST hitting this holiday.

I also agree they should advertise it more, but they shouldn't go all-out since it's had the majority of it's sales already.

Yeah, it was pushed back to 2010 by Sega. (Though it comes out in Japan on 10/29)

Bayonetta, the over-the-top action brawler from Platinum Games, just got bumped into January 2010, Sega announced this morning.

...

As a result of market analysis we have taken a Publishing decision that January 2010 is the optimum release time in the Western Markets to maximize this exciting new title's potential," said Mike Hayes, President and COO for SEGA West.

No, see, it has to WIN GoTY before they can make a GoTY edition.

Perhaps they could do a "complete edition" or "ultimate edition" like Burnout Paradise.

^ I always liked "Special Edition" the word special makes people feel special.

I do think they should re-release the game, with all DLC and patches included.

I think the controls may have turned off a decent amount of gamers (why else did the game have no legs whatsoever, after such a huge opening - people just weren't captivated by the game like CoD), and I think the fact that all current copies of the game sold STILL have the original controls, thus anybody without an internet connection are forced to play with those controls, could be hindering sales even further.

I think re-releasing the game will help get the game in the eye of the public yet again (just a little advertising at GS will do the trick), and any new owners will be playing (and showing to their friends, etc.) the latest and best version of the game.

Since this would be happening around the launch of the slim and a price cut, the game could catch on with new ps3 buyers.
