And the 360 is now offered in black as well, so Nintendo would reinforce this match up, Black 360, Black Wii.

That's a good point I hadn't considered.

Nintendo is also coming out with new improved controllers, but the old ones will be sold with the new SKU.

Any company that was stupid enough to do that should be, uh, called dumb.

I don't care what company does it. MULTUPLE SKU'S ARE STUPID!

I think white is the best color for the Wii, but that's just my opinion. As for the new SKU, it's probably just the Wii along with some game bundled in that's better than Wii Sports.

Care to explain why releasing a new color for the Wii would be foolish?

White is a very clean, very simple, very elegant color. Stronger colors like black are often considered more intimidating and sometimes less friendly. For example, are the walls in your house black? How about in any house you've seen recently? What color walls do you most often see in houses? For the simpler portion of the market of which color would make a difference, a softer color is a better choice. Does the consumer want the little white Wii or the large black PS3?

Are the people in your house black? Would that change your perception of the color black? Should Nintendo cater to people who prefer different colors? Can you buy a black Ipod? (the answer is yes)
