Well both wasted a ton of money. But its safe to say the PS3 will have a longer life no matter how much Sony loses.

PS3 can't possibly = Dreamcast. Dreamcast's first year on the market was an avalanche of awesome games. :P

i bet sony still makes tons of money even if it is not selling as much as predicted. I'll wait for that massive pricecut then revisit these kind of thread.

Well then, much like Sony's bet that brand name would be enough to get them first place again, you would lose.  And if they cut the price, they would just lose even more money than they do now per console.

I'm not convinced that the PS3 will be Sony's last console; however, it's possible that it will be Sony's penultimate console.

A PS3/Saturn analogy is more apropos, IMO.

Yeah I think the PS4 will be Sony's last console.
