Well, for me there's 1 conclusive proof of its falsehood: look at the left picture. The disk, if you were to lay the system flat, would need to be put in upside down. Given that it would be counter-intuitive to do this (and extra strain on the moving parts), a system of that design would be too prone to errors and breaking.

Yeah well it comes slim, it better have a slimmer price! I just want something affordable for me.

Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"

I think sony will show us at the TGS

It was the big pre-E3 rumour that never happened, but talk has once again emerged of a slimmed down re-imagining of Sony’s PS3 console, with claims that contracts with manufacturers have now been finalised.

Joystiq reports that two Taiwanese manufacturing companies, Foxconn and Pegatron, who already enjoy contracts to make the current PS3 have signed off deals to begin producing the new version.

Furthermore, the site claims that the process is well underway with the first shipments leaving the warehouse later this month in preparation for a ‘summer’ rollout. Sources have previously pointed to an August or September release.

All of this remains nothing more than speculation at this point. Whilst Sony has a history of altering its console designs as life cycles progress, to do so now before the generation one machine has seen any sort of discount would certainly be a surprise.

Well Sept 1 is the start of Fin Q3 for Sony, isn't it?
If this is true, it could make sense to release it then.

I don't know what the big deal is.

I have been playing my PS3 slim for months. I have it chillin in my gaming garage/unicorn stable. Me and my leprechaun buddy play split-screen Killzone 2 while scanning $100 PS3 price-cut press releases for internet distribution. All this, while prank calling Xbox support and screaming "Year of the PS3 2009 bitches, cough 2010, cough 2011".

(set sarcasm ray to melt faces)

It is going to happen, I know it is.......... but I passed out months ago trying to hold my breath for this one.
